BrahMos-NG, Rafale
New Delhi: India's Air Force is now stepping into a new phase, where its growing power is set to strike fear into the hearts of its enemies. Work on the deployment of the BrahMos-NG (Next Generation) supersonic cruise missile in Indian Rafale fighter jets is progressing rapidly. This missile, with its deadly capabilities, will significantly enhance India's strategic strength. The integration of BrahMos-NG with Rafale will make the aircraft more accurate, faster, and more formidable, making it nearly impossible for any enemy to breach Indian airspace.
BrahMos-NG can reach speeds of up to 4,170 kilometers per hour, which is approximately Mach 3.5. Its range is 290 km, meaning it can destroy key enemy military bases and terrorist launch pads without crossing the border. The missile’s specialty lies in its ability to strike targets with precision, even without radar guidance. Designed with stealth characteristics, BrahMos-NG can avoid enemy radar detection. In addition, its pin-point accuracy makes it an ideal strike weapon.
Rafale, already regarded as the most powerful fighter aircraft in its class, will now become even deadlier with the addition of BrahMos-NG. A Rafale jet can carry two BrahMos-NG missiles at once, enabling it to strike two different targets in a single mission. This will give Rafale enhanced multi-role and strategic attack capability.
BrahMos-NG will play a critical role in making India self-reliant in advanced missile technology. It is being developed in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, where a dedicated BrahMos production center has been established. This initiative will further strengthen India's missile manufacturing ecosystem and bring the 'Make in India' vision closer to reality. With these missiles built domestically, India will bolster its security while reducing dependency on foreign suppliers.
BrahMos-NG is being designed not just for the Air Force, but also for deployment by the Indian Army and Navy. This means its impact will be felt across sea and land operations as well. The missile is compatible with both naval ships and land-based platforms, dramatically enhancing India’s overall defense capability. The Army, Air Force, and Navy will all be equipped with this common powerful weapon, making it effective in all types of missions.
This move is not just a message to Pakistan but to the entire world — India is now fully capable of defending itself independently. BrahMos-NG can be deployed not only in immediate conflict zones but also to neutralize threats from long distances. The Indian Air Force’s adoption of this system will significantly elevate India's global military standing in the years ahead. Now, India possesses a powerful, precise, and influential weapon — BrahMos-NG — which will play a pivotal role not only in the Air Force but across all branches of the Indian military.
